Drivers Cannot Accept Credit Cards
Passengers can pay by credit card by calling 860-486-6902 Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm EST.
Transportation Services provides transportation between the New London Ferry terminal and the Storrs Campus to all UConn faculty, students and guests. Guests include those traveling to Storrs for Freshman and Transfer Orientation, Ph.D. candidate interviews, visiting professors, guest speakers, and those on other university business. Reservation can be made via the form below or via phone (Mon – Fri, 8-4 EST: 860-486-6902). With enough notice, transportation can usually be provided on any day of the year except for Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. Reservations should be made at least one week in advance, unless it is an emergency. Fulfillment of non-emergency last minute requests are subject to the availability of drivers. Further rules include:
- Additional on-campus stops other than the scheduled pick-up/drop-off will not be made.
- Do not offer tips to the drivers. All drivers are state employees who by law cannot accept tips.
- Storrs campus pick-ups/drop-offs can be from any university building, the Nathan Hale Inn or any apartment complex serviced by the Shuttle Buses and Accessible Van Service. It is not possible to pick-up or drop-off at individual homes.
- We offer pick-ups and drop-offs between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm EST.
- When waiting for your transportation, please keep a look out for a white minivan or a white mini-bus that says UCONN on the side.
To contact us about a pick-up in progress on nights and weekends, please call 860-486-6924. Reservations will not be taken by phone outside of office hours.
In the event the ferry gets delayed, every attempt will be made to schedule a pickup for the later time. In the event that we cannot accommodate a delayed pick-up time, the cost of our service will be refunded or waived. However, the passenger will be responsible for obtaining alternative transportation. See our “Alternatives” page accessible from the navigation links above.
Per person cost for a one-way trip is $60 and $120 for a round trip. Group rates are available for three or more passengers traveling and paying together. Payment must be made over the phone by calling 860-486-6902 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm EST, services will only be rendered after payment is received. Payment through the online form is limited to KFS or U-Box numbers, please do not enter personal credit card information or peoplesoft numbers through the online form. The cost is much less than what off-campus companies are charging and you have the comfort of knowing you are being driven by a State of Connecticut employee who is fully insured, in a vehicle that is also fully insured!
Every effort is made to remain on schedule. However, circumstances sometimes develop beyond the control of Transportation Services, such as weather and/or travel delays. UConn Transportation is not responsible for late arrivals, schedule changes or inconvenience from delayed service to any point or destination.
