Due to road closures associated with the Homecoming Parade, shuttle services will begin two hours later on Sunday, October 13th, at 1pm.

AVS services will begin at 11am.

Due to the Celebrate Mansfield Festival in Downtown Storrs, several roads will closed.

The Weekend 2 bus line will have an all day detour on Saturday, September 21, 2019.  Please see the map below for details.

As a reminder, our shuttle bus services will not be running on Monday, September 2, 2019 in observance of Labor Day.

UConn Transportation Services is excited to announce that CTtransit will provide public bus service between the UConn Stamford campus and the Stamford Transportation Center, which will replace the shuttle bus service previously provided by the University.

 

Beginning August 26, CTtransit offers convenient transit bus service between the UConn Stamford campus and the Stamford Transportation Center via Route 355 (The UConn Stamford Connector). The 355 service operates weekdays, with the first trip departing the Transportation Center at 7:00am followed by trips every half hour throughout the day. The last trip departing the UConn campus in the evening at 10:15pm returns to the Transportation Center for 10:25pm. Route 355 operates on UConn class days during the fall and spring semesters only. The Connector will not operate if campus closes for weather events.

 

A CTtransit branded bus will be used when the service begins.  The bus will eventually be rebranded in an UConn design.

 

Buses on the Route 355 serve three stops: The Transportation Center Bay “A”, Washington & Main at the University’s residence (900 Washington Boulevard, Northbound & Southbound), and the bus stop on Franklin Street adjacent to the UConn campus.

 

Those arriving at the Stamford Transportation Center should board buses displaying the designation sign, “355 UConn Stamford,” for service to the UConn Stamford campus.  Those departing campus should board buses with the destination, “355 Stamford Transportation Center”, for service back to the station. UConn faculty and staff will be required to present their UConn IDs to the driver when boarding to receive service at no charge. UConn students will be required to present both their UConn IDs and current U-Passes for free service.

 

The public fare for the local route service is $1.75 for a two-hour pass.

 

CTtransit service to the UConn Stamford campus is also provided by the following routes:

313 West Broad Street

• Operates daily between Stamford Transportation Center and Stamford’s West End.
• Departs Transportation Center Lane B
• Buses stop on Broad Street at UConn (outbound) and Washington Blvd. & Whitaker Place (inbound)

 

335 Washington Boulevard

• Operates weekdays only between the Stamford Transportation Center and Stamford’s Bulls Head district via Washington Boulevard.
• Departs Transportation Center Lane D
• Buses stop on Washington Blvd. at UConn (outbound) and Washington Blvd. & Whitaker Place (inbound)

 

336 Long Ridge Road

• Operates weekdays & Saturdays between the Stamford Transportation Center, Stamford’s Westover district, and North Stamford via Atlantic Square.
• Departs Transportation Center Lane D
• Buses stop on Broad Street at UConn (outbound) and Washington Blvd. & Whitaker Place (inbound)

Several activities will be occurring between Thursday, April 25 and Monday, April 29 that will interrupt transportation services on the UConn Storrs campus.

Thursday, April 25^th – Changes to the “Glow up the Night 5k”

• 7:15pm – 9pm – No shuttle bus service. Last passengers will be picked up at 7:15pm and then dropped off at their destinations on routes.  Shuttle service will resume once the roads re-open at 9pm.
• AVS will continue to run as normal between 7:30 and 9pm, but may be affected by temporary closures.

Saturday, April 27^th – Changes due to Spring weekend events closing Hillside Road

• 11am – 2:30pm – Weekend 1 and 2 buses and AVS will run as normal.
• 2:30pm – 11pm – Shuttle buses will run detour routes (see map) with the coordinated transfers at Alumni and West Campus. This is due to Spring Weekend events closing Hillside Road.
• 3pm – 11pm – AVS service will continue to run but may not be able to access all areas in the center of campus on Hillside Road and Fairfield Way as they are closed.
• 11pm – Weekend 1 and 2 buses and AVS will run as normal

Monday, April 29^th – Alternating one way traffic around a construction site on Glenbrook

• 7am – 3:30pm – Expect delays on all bus routes.

UConn Transportation Services recently contracted with Passio Technologies to provide GPS bus tracking and automatic passenger counting services on the Storrs campus.

Passio Technologies collaborated with another industry leader, TransLoc, to provide HuskyGo patrons with the “Rider” mobile application, which is arguably the best in the industry.

The implementation of these significant improvements, only four months after Mike Jednak, Associate Vice President of Facilities Operations, first promised them to student leaders, was the result of a strong team effort by professional from the departments of Information Technology Services, Parking & Transportation Services, and Purchasing.

A group of frequent student riders recently joined with Transportation Services to test the Rider application.  The feedback they provided was overwhelmingly positive and valuable.

The TransLoc Rider app features will allow you to:

• Favorite your most used stops (select the “heart”)
• Get predictions for the next three arrivals at your stop
• Know how much capacity is available on each bus (click on the moving bus)
• Set notifications to let you know when your bus is about to arrive (select the “bell”)

Download the TransLoc Rider app from the app store and get access to real-time travel information.

We also android app download for Transloc!

The new tracking system will also allow UConn Transportation Services to collect and analyze ridership data in ways never before possible.  Future changes to the University’s shuttle services will be based upon publicly shared data and analysis.

The current shuttle tracking app (Ride Systems) will remain available for the remainder of the academic year, but its users are strongly encouraged to convert to TransLoc Rider as soon as possible.
